I feel like I’ve won the battle but already lost the supernatural war that’s finally here. I’m Katrina Quartz, a half Crystal Witch, half Sanguine vampire and guess what? I inadvertently walked into the trap laid for me by my Sanguine brethren.
The result? I’ve resurrected Elizabeth Bathory, also known as the Blood Countess, the darkest and most malevolent vampire in all history. And she wants me to help her head up this war on the side of darkness. It’s not a choice.
Another rather infuriating problem? Things were just starting to get serious with my werewolf boyfriend Ulric, when a brooding (and unfortunately hot) Sanguine tricked me into a blood-bond with him. Completely inconvenient that I now pine for him too, with every drop of my blood.
Oh, and I’m about to embrace my darkness because it’s all I have left to fight the darkest bloodline in history – my own.
